Director General Visits Special Farms in Chiayi and Seeks the Best Way to Adding Value to Industries

On July 1st, Chen-yang Lee, Director General of the Soil and Water Conservation Bureau (SWCB), visited Yenten Farm and Maya Grape Garden in Zhongpu Township and Wotian Farm in Xingang Township accompanied by Liang-mao Lin, Director General of the Agriculture Department of Chiayi County; Ying-pi Hsiao, Deputy Director General of Agriculture Department; Ku-hua Lin, Director General of the Water Resources Department; and Dennis Wang, Director of Tainan District Agricultural Research and Extension Station. He discussed rural revitalization and local industrial development with the experts and farm managers, the balance between slopeland crops and soil and water conservation, as well as the young people returning home to be farmers; they exchanged their opinions with each other in the hope of finding possible opportunities for extending cooperation, and adding value to agriculture with the cooperative combination of expertise from industry, government and academia.
